Poland and the Baltic states will be disappointed after the negotiations between Russia and the United States. This was reported by Bloomberg on February 14.

Columnist Mark Champion described the possible, in his opinion, consequences of contacts between the leaders of the two countries.

"For Europe: nothing, except the clearest indication to date that [U.S. President Donald] Trump does not consider its countries to be allies. For the Baltic States and Poland in particular, the consequences of Trump's deliberately ambivalent language will be very troubling," the piece said.

The columnist emphasized that the American politician can improve relations with Russia at the expense of the EU countries, writes "Gazeta.Ru".

He also believes that the talks between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin were a confirmation that attempts to diplomatically isolate Moscow by the West have failed.

Bloomberg recalled that the United States is trying to make a deal with Kiev on the transfer of rare earth minerals to Washington for financial assistance. In this regard, Ukraine's future represents nothing less than "pledging its economic future to the United States," the agency wrote.

On February 14, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the second term of an American politician would push Europe towards development.

The Financial Times reported on February 11 that the "main nightmare" of Macron and other European leaders is the deal between Trump and the Russian leader.

Politico reported on Feb. 12 that Washington's allies in Europe are changing their approach to supporting Kiev in line with Trump expressing a mood for talks with Moscow.

Phone talks between Putin and Trump took place on February 12. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported, the two leaders discussed many topics, including the exchange of Russian and US citizens, the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and the situation in the Middle East. Later, Trump said that representatives of the Russian Federation and the United States would meet on February 14 to discuss details on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine on the margins of the Munich Security Conference.
