Suspect in the beating of commentator Skvortsov detained in Novosibirsk

A suspect in the beating of the sports commentator of "Match TV" Roman Skvortsov was detained in Novosibirsk. About it on February 14 reported in the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region.

"In the course of operational-search measures by police officers were identified persons involved in this illegal act. At the moment in the police department № 1 "Centralny" of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Novosibirsk is a citizen possibly involved in the commission of this crime," reads the message published in the Telegram-channel.

At the moment, the man is being questioned, the information is being verified.

On February 9, sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev reported that Skvortsov was in intensive care in Novosibirsk. The city was hosting the KHL All-Star Match on February 8-9. Guberniev later wrote that his colleague regained consciousness and his condition stabilized.

The next day, Skvortsov's wife Ksenia said that the life of the sports commentator is not threatened. She specified that her husband does not remember what happened to him. According to her, the incident was related to crime.

On the fact of the incident opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of medium serious harm to health").

Skvortsov specializes in hockey and basketball, is included in the VTB United League Hall of Fame, and was also recognized as the best commentator of the KHL.
