Romanian Foreign Ministry summoned Russian Charge d'Affaires a.i.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry has summoned Russian Charge d'Affaires Elena Kopnina in connection with the discovery of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) wreckage on the territory of the republic. The diplomatic department reported about it on February 14 on its website.
The discovery of the UAV fragments on the territory of the country was reported earlier by The Guardian newspaper with reference to the Romanian Defense Ministry.
"By order of the foreign minister, the Russian Charge d'Affaires in Bucharest was urgently summoned to the Foreign Ministry building. She was handed a strong condemnation," the publication on the Foreign Ministry's website said.
According to the ministry, the condemnation is related to the alleged "repeated violation of the airspace" of the republic.
The Moldovan Defense Ministry said on February 3 that the military had detected a drone that violated the country's airspace. The drone flew from Ukraine and followed the route Karmanovo - Mayak - Grigoriopol on the territory of unrecognized Transnistria. After the UAV left the airspace of the republic.
In his turn, Russian ambassador to the republic Oleg Ozerov said that the incident with the drone crash in Moldova, which Chisinau accuses Moscow of, requires additional investigation.
