The European Union (EU) is a very difficult trading partner for the US. American leader Donald Trump said this during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on February 13.

"The European Union is a very difficult partner for us, very, very difficult. <...> They enjoy a lot of advantages, and we are not satisfied with that," the US president said.

He specified that the EU imposes very high taxes against American companies in order to benefit.

On February 10, it was reported that Trump raised tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum to the United States from 10% to 25%, and also removed various benefits and quotas for the elimination of duties for the largest suppliers. Also, the U.S. President specified that these duties will be imposed on products of those countries that had previously imposed retaliatory restrictions on U.S. products.
