TheUnited States and India intend to double the volume of trade turnover between the States to $500 billion by 2030. This was announced by the Indian Prime Minister during a meeting with American leader Donald Trump at the White House on February 13.

"We have set ourselves the goal of doubling [the volume of] our bilateral trade to reach [figures of] $500 billion by 2030," Modi said.

He specified that the countries intend to focus on oil and gas trade, as well as strengthen joint cooperation in the fields of energy, defense and modern technology. Also, the Indian Prime Minister said that the countries have an opportunity to reach the level of "megapartnership".

At the time, Trump also said that the US intends to become the number one supplier of oil and gas to India. He added that the nations would also engage in joint mining and processing of critical minerals.
