Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units of the separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Guards All-Russian Army of the Southern Military District have destroyed military equipment and positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk direction of the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone with the help of FPV drones. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 14.

According to the ministry, servicemen are actively using drones to hit military equipment, destroy fortifications, combat points and concentrations of enemy personnel in open terrain and in shelters located in settlements and forested areas left by residents.

"We can perform a wide range of tasks, namely reconnaissance, detect targets and independently engage them. We use both large reconnaissance aircraft type, we also use Mavic, well that is copter type for reconnaissance, FPV drones, we also use Lancets." Priority targets are machine-gun points, DOTs, enemy artillery, tanks, combat vehicles. Everything that prevents the infantry from passing, we try to destroy," said the commander of the UAV company with the call sign DVR.

It is noted that the calculation of the attack drone works in the composition of the operator, who determines the target for destruction, and the assistant, who prepares a munition with striking elements, ensures its attachment to the drone and launch FPV-drone. The work is paired with a reconnaissance UAV formation, the ministry added. The scouts find the targets and transmit the coordinates to the strikers, and record the moment of hitting the target.

On February 13, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the military grouping of troops "North" by FPV-drone calculations destroyed an armored personnel carrier (APC) Stryker of the AFU in Kharkiv region.
