A long-term settlement of the Ukrainian conflict should be a priority for Europe. This was stated by US President Donald Trump' s special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg in an interview with Fox Business TV channel on February 14.

"We realize that [conflict resolution] will largely depend on Europe. It's happening in their backyard, and it's in their interest to get [a long-term solution]. That's one of the reasons we're in Munich, to talk to the leadership of the countries, the foreign ministers, the prime ministers, the presidents, to make sure that they realize that and that they're part of the deal that we're beginning to work on," he said on air.

Kellogg added that Washington is counting on Europe's economic, diplomatic and military support. He also added that he hopes to reach some very good agreements during the Munich conference.

Trump said back on February 13 that Russian and US officials would meet to discuss details on resolving the conflict in Ukraine on the margins of the Munich Security Conference.
