On February 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).

According to the ministry, a rifleman-assistant grenade launcher of a motorized rifle platoon, Guards Sergeant Andrei Kokuyev, acting as part of a group of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, went to storm a Ukrainian militant stronghold, which was located in a forest area. The approaches to the position were being shot at by enemy machine gunners, but Kokuyev, risking his life, moved in to destroy the large-caliber machine gun firing position, carrying a supply of explosives. Using his knowledge of the terrain conditions, he got as close as possible and threw a pre-prepared explosive charge to the embrasure of the enemy stronghold.

As a result of the explosion, the machine gun crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the ammunition located there were eliminated. The guards lieutenant was the first to enter the gap in the enemy's defenses and captured a Ukrainian militant who had been taken by surprise. Then he secured his position and covered the main group of Russian attackers with a barrage of fire, who, after penetrating the stronghold, began clearing it.

After the AFU firing position came under the control of the Russian army, Ukrainian militants tried several times to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces military from the occupied borders. Thus, while repelling another enemy counterattack, Kokuyev was wounded as a result of a drone drop. Despite this, he rendered first aid on his own and continued to carry out the task. Having lost their attack potential, the AFU retreated deep into the territories under its control. Thanks to the valor and bravery shown by Guards Sergeant Andrey Kokuyev, the Russian troops managed to gain a foothold on the new borders and create conditions for the development of the offensive.

In addition, the Defense Ministry drew attention to the merits of Lieutenant Anatoly Sysoyev, commander of the motorized rifle platoon. The platoon under his command carried out a combat mission to storm an AFU stronghold near one of the settlements. During the sortie into the neutral zone, the Russian servicemen took advantage of difficult weather conditions with poor visibility and the infantry group favorably positioned itself on the positions. After waiting for the onset of heavy fog, Sysoyev commanded his platoon to go on the attack.

Thanks to the lieutenant's skillfully constructed firing system, which took into account the terrain conditions, the platoon's soldiers managed to suppress the Ukrainian militants' long-term firing points with machine gun crews during the firefight. The AFU, despite fierce resistance, lost most of their fighters and were forced to retreat. The bravery and self-sacrifice of Lieutenant Anatoly Sysoyev and his subordinates made it possible to dislodge the enemy from an important line of defense, which created the prerequisites for further offensive of the Russian army and liberation of the nearby village.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported the day before that the military grouping of troops "North" by FPV-drone calculations destroyed an armored personnel carrier (APC) Stryker of the AFU in Kharkiv region. It was specified that Russian servicemen had detected the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier near one of the localities in the region with the help of aerial reconnaissance equipment.
