- Political analyst calls USAID's fraudulent nature the main reason for the U.S. abandoning it

The fraudulent nature of the United States Agency for International Assistance (USAID) has prompted the administration of US President Donald Trump to abandon it for good. Eduard Lozansky, a political scientist and president of the American University in Moscow, told Izvestia on February 13.
"New Secretary of State Marco Rubio described a long-standing "dissatisfaction" with the agency, which he called "completely irresponsible." A January memo from USAID Inspector General Paul Martin noted that foreign organizations that work with a major USAID project grantee often go unregistered, hampering the ability of the agency's investigators to verify "allegations of fraud," the memo said. Such allegations often include diverting taxpayer-funded aid, even to terrorist organizations," Lozansky said.
With the unstoppable transition from a unipolar world to a multipolar world majority can no longer tolerate the agency's destructive actions, he said, and the new White House administration realizes this.
"A multi-year study of USAID and State Department spending by the Middle East Forum in its February 5 report found that radical organizations received $164 million in approved grants, of which at least $122 million went to groups linked to terrorists and their supporters," the expert said.
He also added that USAID also contributed in one way or another to the Ukrainian crisis and its accompanying corrupt activities.
"Former Trump speechwriter and high-ranking State Department official Michael Benz, Judge Anthony Napolitano, many former employees of the CIA and other US intelligence services, military officers, university professors, journalists, book authors Benjamin Abelow, Scott Horton, Jonathan Haslam and many others unequivocally state that it is the West under the leadership of the United States that is responsible for this conflict," Lozansky emphasized.
Earlier, on February 12, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu said that the activities of USAID have caused significant damage to many countries. According to him, many countries realized the essence of the organization after it had caused them "significant damage."
On February 3, American billionaire Ilon Musk announced the launch of the process to liquidate USAID. The businessman noted that the agency was beyond recovery and should be closed. At the same time, US President Donald Trump called the heads of the agency radical madmen.
The Bloomberg agency reported on February 5 that Musk's team gained access to the room where secret USAID documents are stored. In addition, more than 100 employees of the agency were sent on administrative leave. Later, on February 7, it became known that the court in the United States blocked Trump's decision to recall USAID employees from their posts and send them on leave until February 14.
