The Albanian authorities will extradite Maxim Bobrov, accused of causing harm to health and slander, to Russia at the request of the Russian side. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on February 13.

"At the request of the Prosecutor General's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Albania extradite Maxim Bobrov for criminal prosecution under paragraph "z" of part 2 of article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of medium severity harm to health, committed with the use of objects used as weapons") and part 1 of article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Slander")", - said in a statement on the website of the agency.

According to the investigation, in March 2020 in the town of Kineshma, Ivanovo region, Bobrov came into conflict with an elderly man because he tried to remove the devices installed by the accused to collect birch sap from trees. The perpetrator hit the pensioner on the arm with a metal bat.

On the same day, Bobrov filed a police report about the alleged self-inflicted beatings by the victim. Later, he also began to spread defamatory information on social networks about the lawyer to whom the pensioner had turned.

The man subsequently absconded from justice and has been on an international wanted list since 2021. Eventually Bobrov was detained on the territory of Albania.

"Accompanied by officers of the FSIN of Russia and the NCB Interpol, the accused will be taken to Moscow," - added in the Prosecutor General's office.

Earlier, on February 7, the agency reported that Turkey will extradite to Russia accused of murdering a man and robbery Olim Makhmudov. The man had been on the wanted list since 2011.
