U.S. places ICC prosecutor Khan on the list of sub-sanctioned individuals


TheUnited States has put the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, on the list of sub-sanctioned persons. This is reported on February 13 on the website of the U.S. Ministry of Finance.
"The following person was added to the sanctions list: Khan Karim Asad Ahmad, The Hague, the Netherlands," - stated in a statement.
It is specified that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has citizenship of the UK.
On February 9, it was reported that Karim Khan may get into the US sanctions lists by order of US President Donald Trump. It was specified that the sanctions include the freezing of assets in the United States of the specified persons and a ban on visits to the United States by them and their families.
The financial sanctions imposed against the ICC by the American leader became known on February 7. According to Trump, the actions of this court are "an attack on the sovereignty of the United States" and "undermine the critical work of the Government in the field of national security and foreign policy". For this decision, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump.
