The number of young entrepreneurs in Russia has grown by a third


Russian entrepreneurs in 2024 opened 189 thousand new IEs and LLCs with the help of the service "Business Registration and Remote Account Opening" from Sberbank's subsidiary Business Environment. 41% of the business was launched by young people under 35 years old - a third more than a year earlier, according to the press service of the credit organization.
"Most often as a sphere of activity young people chose Internet trading. The Republic of Ingushetia turned out to be the "youngest" region in 2024: every fourth business (24%) here was opened by an entrepreneur under 25 years old," said Alexey Shashkin, director of Sberbank's Small and Micro Business division.
Men opened businesses more often than women (57% and 43% respectively). Russians registered the most new businesses in Moscow, Moscow Region, Krasnodar Krai, St. Petersburg, Rostov Region, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. Moreover, in Krasnodar Krai this indicator grew by 21% over the year.
In general, the most popular type of business by number of registrations in 2024 was retail trade. The top 10 also includes passenger and cargo transportation, wholesale trade, construction and real estate operations, catering, personal services, trade in cars and motorcycles, their repair, as well as IT, which showed an increase of 13.5% over the previous year.
In Moscow out of the top 10, the largest increase in registrations was shown by real estate operations (+28%), in St. Petersburg - land and pipeline transportation (+56%). In Altai and Primorsky Krai, Voronezh Oblast and Dagestan the best dynamics was noted in construction (+68%, 51%, 38% and 31% respectively).
A total of 700 thousand new enterprises have been registered during the existence of the service, since 2018.
