Forecaster names the coldest day in Moscow this week


The cooling in Moscow will occur in waves. This was told by the head of the Situation Center of Roshydromet Yuri Varakin on Thursday, February 13.
"The cooling will be until the 21st, until the 22nd of February. The second wave will be at the beginning of the third decade of February, that is, the temperature at night can fall to -14...-18 degrees, and during the day -10...-14. Snow will lie from 1 to 3 centimeters," he told Radio 1.
The forecaster specified that Sunday will be the coldest day this week.
"From Monday to February 19, a slight rise in temperature is again expected. Light snowfall within 1 mm," he added.
He added that the supply of snow will no longer be replenished.
Earlier in the day, forecaster Yevgeny Tishkovets said that cloudy weather will remain in Moscow, precipitation during the day is unlikely, reports 360.ru.
In turn, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, told RT that frosts are coming to central Russia a month late.
On February 12, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that abnormal frosts are expected in the capital next week. He noted that the air temperature will drop to -15 degrees and will be four degrees below the climatic norm.
On the same day, an expert of the prognostic center "Meteo" Alexander Ilyin allowed the return of thaw to Moscow from February 23. According to him, at the beginning of the third decade of February, the air temperature will begin to tend to zero, and already around the 23rd of the thermometer readings will be positive.
