Candidate of Medical Sciences, nutritionist Andrei Bobrovsky named on Thursday, February 13, the main unpleasant consequences of carbohydrate-free diet.

The specialist noted in conversation with "Radio 1" that first of all it is metabolic disorders: ketosis or ketoacidosis - the accumulation of ketone bodies in the blood, which creates a powerful additional load on the kidneys and the liver. This leads to a violation of the acid-base balance of the body and increases the risk of developing various diseases, among which "gout" is in the first place, he added.

Also when following a carbohydrate-free diet, the body may experience a deficit of important substances: lack of dietary fiber, B vitamins, magnesium.

Bobrovsky noted the negative impact on organs: increased load on the kidneys due to excess protein, the risk of exacerbation of diseases of the cardiovascular system, thyroid disorders, problems with the digestive system due to lack of fiber.

In addition to physical, psychological symptoms can be added: fatigue, weakness, concentration problems, irritability, nausea, headaches, emphasized the nutritionist.

"The greatest danger of a carbohydrate-free diet for pregnant and lactating women, for people with kidney disease, for diabetics, for some athletes and people with a disturbed thyroid gland", - concluded the doctor.

Earlier in the day, endocrinologist-dietologist Yulia Milyaeva said that for people with high blood pressure, it is necessary to select a special diet, reports 360.ru.

In turn, baker-technologist Maxim Yedlin said that yeast bread differs from sourdough bread in that it is cooked faster, but is less healthy.

Earlier, February 10, nutritionist, endocrinologist, candidate of medical sciences Oksana Mikhaleva said that bread is an important healthy food, while white bread is the least useful and it is better to refuse its daily consumption. The norm of bread consumption for healthy adults is 100 g of wheat bread and 150 g of rye bread daily.
