Karchaa told about the actions of the AFU to prevent the IAEA mission to ZNPP

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are doing everything to prevent experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission from visiting the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP). Renat Karchaa, a member of the legislative assembly of Zaporizhzhya Region, told Izvestia on February 13.
According to him, the AFU attack on the IAEA convoy the day before was purposeful and planned to disrupt the next rotation of the mission. He also added that Kiev was thus going to accuse Russia of allegedly failing to ensure the security of its territories.
"The Ukrainian regime is doing everything in their power in order to prevent an international observation mission from entering the territory of the ZNPP. <...>. The task is to accuse us of being unable to ensure security on our territory, with all the consequences of another cheap but very loud spectacle in the Western information space," he said.
At the same time, Karchaa pointed out that the courage and professionalism of the Russian military helped prevent the disaster.
"IAEA inspectors absolutely owe their lives to our servicemen," Karchaa concluded.
The day before, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched a drone strike on a parking lot in the ZNPP satellite town of Energodar, which is located 300 meters from the plant's first reactor, thus disrupting the rotation of IAEA experts. The governor of Zaporizhzhya region, Yevhen Balitsky, called the incident a provocation.
The Defense Ministry said on 13 February that the disruption of the rotation was the result of deliberate actions of Ukraine. The convoy was first stopped on the country's territory, and then Kiev attacked the Russian working group that had arrived at the place of the experts' transfer.
