Russians have been given a way to save money on housing and utility bills

Yulia Fedorova, real estate expert and CEO of TERRA Management Company, told on Thursday, February 13, about ways to save money on housing and communal services (HCS). According to the specialist, it is realistic to reduce utility bills, if you carefully monitor the condition of plumbing, reduce energy consumption and know your rights.
To avoid unnecessary spending on water, Fedorova recommended regularly checking plumbing for leaks, installing quality meters and replacing them in a timely manner, and using water filters to extend their life.
"Make sure you have metering devices installed for all utilities. Without them you will pay according to the norms with an increasing coefficient, which will significantly increase costs," - said Fedorova in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
To save on energy consumption, you should replace all incandescent bulbs with LED. Thus, you can pay five thousand rubles less per year for housing and utility services. Choosing appliances with energy efficiency class A or higher and optimizing the use of dishwashers will also help to reduce bills.
In addition, with a two-factor meter it should be turned on at night, it is equally important to run eco-modes and avoid drying mode. The expert recommended to put the refrigerator away from heat sources, and to pour only the necessary amount of water into the kettle.
If the owner temporarily does not live in the apartment, for example, went to the dacha for a long period, he can demand a recalculation for utilities, reminded Fedorova.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing Sergei Kolunov proposed to provide large families with a 50% discount on payment for housing and communal services, RT reports.
In turn, senior managing partner of the law firm PG Partners Polina Gusyatnikova said that the presence of a bank deposit in some cases may deprive pensioners of the opportunity to qualify for benefits for payment of housing and utility services, according to the website kp.ru.
Earlier, on February 7, in the company Level Group told "Izvestia", what changes await Russians in the spring after the March 1, 2025 will come into force the decree, according to which it will be forbidden to switch to a uniform payment for heating. In addition, the fee for this service will increase in the second half of the year.
