Mayor of Orenburg Sergey Salmin has decided to leave the post of the mayor of the city and go to the zone of special military operation (SMO). This was announced by the Governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler on February 13.

"Today the head of the city of Orenburg Sergey Alexandrovich Salmin appealed to me with a request to give him the opportunity to leave as a volunteer for the SSO. This is a serious decision - to join our fighters defending the interests of the country and civilians in the zone of the special military operation," he said in his Telegram channel.

He called Salmin's decision an act of a real man and supported it unconditionally. Pasler added that at the time of the head's absence his duties will be performed by his first deputy. According to him, all ongoing projects in the city will be continued, and control over the city will be strengthened.

He also noted that in addition to the head of Orenburg, several municipal employees have also decided to go to the SSO zone in recent days. Pasler wished all officials to fulfill combat tasks and return home with victory.

Earlier, February 5, Belgorod Region Health Minister Andrei Ikonnikov joined the volunteer detachment "BARS-Belgorod" to help organize the medical service. According to him, Russian fighters should receive affordable medical care, and it can only be improved by being on the inside.
