Zabaikalye has become a leader among Russian regions in terms of concessions concluded in the housing and utilities sector. The number of accidents at such facilities has significantly decreased, Dmitry Semenov, head of the regional Chamber of Control and Accounts, said at a meeting of the Industrial Policy Committee of the regional Zakobrazhdan.

"Concessions are needed, concessions can work. As for concessions in the heat and power sector, this is a competitive market. And the creation of municipal unitary enterprises in the competitive market is not allowed in our country," the official said, he was quoted by ChitaMedia IA.

Semyonov explained that old enterprises should be privatized, and new ones will not be built anymore. Therefore, now there will be only concessions in the region and it is necessary to organize their work properly, he added.

Now in Zabaikalsky Krai in the sphere of housing and communal services about 70% of all enterprises are in concession. According to the head of the CSR, despite the reduction in the number of accidents and facilities to all concessionaires there are questions.

Earlier it was reported that in Zabaikalsk within the framework of the concession may appear a water conduit and water pumping station. Investors from China will undertake the construction.
