Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov urged not to rush ahead, commenting on US President Donald Trump's words about territories in the Ukrainian issue.

"For now, we would suggest not getting ahead of ourselves," he said at a briefing.

According to Peskov, during a telephone conversation on February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump emphasized the existence of political will about conducting a dialogue on the settlement.

The Kremlin spokesman recalled that the leaders agreed on the view that a settlement was possible only in the case of peaceful negotiations. He specified that in the future "it is necessary to wait for at least the first joint results."

On February 11, Trump said that as a result of close contacts between the White House administration and Moscow and Kiev over the past week, significant progress has been made in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
