Belarus has repeatedly received requests from the administration of US President Donald Trump to release American citizens. Natalia Eismont, press secretary of the republic's President Alexander Lukashenko, told TASS on February 13.

"This is not the only request of the new US administration. Such requests have come and are coming," she noted.

According to Eismont, these talks remain confidential. She also added that the details of the information are in the U.S. State Department and the White House.

The day before, three people were released in Belarus, including one U.S. citizen.

Earlier, on February 12, White House press Secretary Carolyn Levitt announced the imminent release of Russian Alexander Vinnik, who was detained in 2017 by US intelligence agencies on charges of money laundering on a large scale.
