The details and location of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump, which the leaders agreed to hold during telephone talks, should be worked out. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on February 13.

In addition, instructions will be given to the aides of the heads of state on the topic of the meeting, he added.

The presidential spokesman also recalled that there had been no high-level contacts between Moscow and Washington for several years amid the ongoing developments. He noted that the current US presidential administration adheres to the view that everything should be done for there to be peace, and this position is sympathetic to the Russian side.

Putin held a telephone conversation with Trump on February 12. As Peskov reported, the two leaders discussed many topics, including the exchange of Russian and US citizens, the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and the situation in the Middle East.

Trump, in turn, shared that he is united with Putin in the opinion that Washington and Moscow will be able to benefit greatly from working together. The American leader also said that he plans to meet with the Russian president in Saudi Arabia.
