More than 20 thousand enterprises of the Russian timber industry have connected 38 thousand vehicles to the ERA-GLONASS state information system. Their data are transmitted to the FGIS Forest Complex - a digital system of the Federal Forestry Agency. Most of them in the Vologda region - 2.6 thousand, followed by the Novgorod region (2.5 thousand) and Krasnoyarsk region (2.2 thousand), according to the press service of the company.

The Sverdlovsk, Irkutsk, Kostroma, Arkhangelsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Tomsk regions and Perm Krai are also among the top ten regions by the number of joined vehicles.

""GLONASS" continues to register the entire incoming flow of users - this is about 250 enterprises per day or about 700 vehicles. Due to the start of mass connection of timber companies in January-February only, we have increased the staff of the support service, which works without weekends", - said the Managing Director for the development of monitoring products and the Internet of Things JSC "GLONASS" Dmitry Rubtsov.

According to him, in each region users are assisted by the company's official partners, who issue and install SIM cards and customize satellite navigation equipment.

According to the head of a logistics company from the Moscow region, all the company's vehicles have been equipped with satellite navigation equipment for several years, so the connection to ERA-GLONASS has not caused any difficulties.

"We started the connection last year, by the end of December most of our equipment involved in the transportation of timber was integrated into the system, immediately after the New Year holidays we completed the connection of the remaining vehicles without problems", - explained the head of the company "Trans-Service" Irina Sokolovskaya.

She advised her colleagues, who are just starting the process, to pay attention to checking documents and choosing reliable contractors, who are able to qualitatively install and correctly configure sensors.

The norm on connection of forestry equipment to the state information system "ERA-GLONASS" came into force on January 1, 2025. The requirement is aimed at supporting the industry and conscientious forest users. In addition, the system will allow faster response to forest fires.
