The number of cars sold in Russia over 30 years has been revealed

Over the last 30 years, 43.82 million new passenger cars have been sold in Russia. Sergey Tselikov, Director General of Avtostat analytical agency, told about it at the ForAuto 2025 conference, Izvestia correspondent reports on February 13.

The Lada brand has become the market leader for three decades with a large gap. During this period, 14.54 million new cars of this brand were sold in the country.

In second place is Kia with the result of 2.63 million units. Hyundai (2.61 million units) is a little behind it. The fourth place went to Renault (2.17 million units), the fifth - Toyota (2.05 million units). Chevrolet came next. Nissan, Volkswagen, Volkswagen, Ford and Skoda, which closed the top ten.

"Chinese brands, which now occupy more than half of the market, in terms of the number of cars sold, are still far behind the brands that have been on the market for a long time," said Tselikov.

Thus, Chery comes only in 20th place in sales over 30 years (532 thousand units). Geely is on the 25th position (426 thousand units), Haval - on the 26th (418 thousand units), and Changan - on the 38th (176 thousand units).

Earlier in the day it was reported that over the past ten years, the average cost of new cars in Russia has increased more than three times. At the same time, in currency equivalent, the cost of the car has not changed much: in 2013 it was $ 28.5 thousand, and by 2024 it rose to $ 33.8 thousand.

Also on February 13, it became known that at the end of 2024 the total sales of all types of vehicles in Russia increased by 40% and amounted to 1.83 million units.
