Car prices in Russia have more than tripled in 10 years


Over the last ten years, the average cost of new cars in Russia has increased more than three times. Sergei Tselikov, general director of the analytical agency Avtostat, told about it at the ForAuto 2025 conference, Izvestia correspondent reports on February 13.
"In 2013, the weighted average price of a new car in Russia was 910 thousand rubles. At the end of last year it amounted to 3.12 million rubles," said Tselikov.
He noted that at the same time in currency equivalent the cost of the car has not changed much: in 2013 it was $28.5 thousand, and by 2024 it rose to $33.8 thousand.
The day before it was reported that in 2024, used cars in Russia were becoming more expensive than new ones. Thus, the weighted average price of a passenger car with mileage in the Russian Federation for the year increased by 13%, while for new cars this indicator increased only by 6%. In the secondary car market, the weighted average price of a car reached 1.18 million rubles.
