A resident of Priamurye was sentenced to nine years in prison for preparing a terrorist attack

A resident of the Amur region, a member of extremist organizations, was sentenced to nine years in prison for preparation of a terrorist attack and storage of weapons and ammunition. This was reported by the FSB in the Amur region on February 13.

As indicated in the agency, in 2022, a local resident actively sought ways to gain access to weapons and ammunition of one of the military units of the Eastern Military District (EMD). In the future, he planned to use them to prepare and commit explosions at the facilities of the judicial system, internal affairs bodies and railway infrastructure. The detainee was confiscated documents of a member of the extremist organizations "Union of Slavic Forces of Russia" (other names "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics", "USSR") and "People's Council of the Amur Region", the activities of which are prohibited in the Russian Federation.

The man was found guilty under part 1 of article 30, part. 1 article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for a terrorist act") and part 1 article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and ammunition"). The sentence has not entered into legal force.

"By the sentence of the 1st Eastern District Military Court the defendant was found guilty of committing the above crimes, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of nine years with serving the first four years in prison, the rest of the term in a strict regime colony", - stated in the message.

Earlier, on January 29, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced 18-year-old Kursk resident Garik Grigoryan (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) to seven years in a general regime colony for treason, preparation for a terrorist act and other crimes. In addition, he must pay a fine of 40 thousand rubles. At the time of detention, the young man was 17 years old.
