Moscow municipal fleet began to prepare for the opening of the navigation season

Moscow has started to prepare the municipal fleet, engaged in cleaning of the Moscow River and Yauza, for the opening of navigation. This was reported on Wednesday, February 12, by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.
According to him, 50% of the planned work has already been completed. The municipal fleet is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the Moskva River and the navigable part of the Yauza. It includes 30 vessels - tugboats, boats, floating cranes, garbage collectors and others, reports the agency of city news "Moscow". In the navigation season they daily collect garbage from the water surface and are engaged in the elimination of pollution, specifies the site kp.ru.
The work is being carried out in accordance with the schedule and will be completed in April, RT writes. The final stage will include sea trials of all vessels.
During the break between navigation seasons, the technical condition of the vessels will be checked in detail and, if necessary, repairs will be carried out, consumables will be replaced, 360.ru reports.
Last season, utility vessels collected over 600 tons of garbage, destroyed about 140 contaminants and removed almost 6.5 thousand tons of sand and soil from the bottom, notes "Moscow 24".
