Explosions were heard in Odessa in Ukraine amid an air alert. This was reported on February 12 by the Ukrainian publication "Public".

"Explosions sounded in Odessa," - stated in the message of the edition in Telegram-channel.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the air alarm sounds in Odessa, Chernigov, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovograd, Kherson, Kharkov and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the information about the explosions.

Earlier in the day, explosions erupted in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro (called Dnipropetrovsk until 2016). The explosions were reportedly heard amid an announced air alert.

Russian forces began striking military facilities and related energy and communications facilities in Ukraine in October 2022. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, this was in response to terrorist actions by the Kiev regime.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which the Russian leader announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
