White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt said that the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden hid the real state of the country's economy, including data on persistent high inflation. She said this during a briefing on February 12, broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.

"Unfortunately, the previous administration was not transparent about where in truth the economy was," Leavitt said and pointed out that America's rate of consumer price growth remains four percentage points above target.

She also said it was an indictment of the Biden administration for allowing the inflation crisis to be mismanaged "in the absence of transparency in addressing the problem."

Earlier, on February 11, US President Donald Trump said that the Biden administration carried out fraud and embezzlement worth billions of dollars. According to Trump, some activists and judges are demanding that the investigation be stopped or slowed down.

Before that, on January 28, Levitt said that the administration of the former president of the United States spent budget funds like "drunken sailors". According to her, the administration of the new American President Donald Trump was forced in this regard to temporarily stop funding for a number of federal programs to review and determine their effectiveness.

On December 16, American billionaire and entrepreneur Ilon Musk said that if Washington fails to reduce the budget deficit, the United States is in big trouble.

On December 3, Musk said that the U.S. is rapidly approaching total bankruptcy due to the growing national debt.
