FAS has identified companies with a dominant position in the pork market. The Service analyzed commodity markets within the boundaries of federal districts, the antimonopoly authority reported on February 12.

The Service reminds that abuse of a dominant position entails the application of measures of administrative responsibility, including negotiable fines. Thus, in the Far Eastern Federal District were singled out GC "Rusagro", GC "Miratorg", GC "Sibagro", in the North Caucasus - LLC "Gvardiya", in the Siberian - GC "Sibagro", GC "Miratorg", LLC SPK Chistogorsky, in the Urals - Sibagro, Kamsky Bacon, Miratorg, in the Central - Rusagro, Miratorg, Znamensky SSC, in the South - RKZ-TAVR.

"Based on the results of the analysis in six federal districts, companies were identified whose total shares in the respective commodity markets make it possible to recognize their position as dominant. FAS of Russia notes that a dominant position in itself is not a violation of antimonopoly legislation. At the same time, the companies that are market leaders should show social responsibility in the formation of their pricing policy in order to reduce the risks of violation of antimonopoly legislation", - explained in the FAS.

Why the Service may find a violation of antitrust law

In September last year it was reported that the FAS issued a warning to the largest supplier of tobacco products. It noted that the service analyzed the Russian market of tobacco products and found that JSC "TC Megapolis" occupies a dominant position in it.
