In Kiev subway to dismantle the panel with the image of the Red Army soldier

Ukraine will soon dismantle a panel depicting a Red Army soldier, which is located in the Kiev metro. This was reported on February 12 by the Ukrainian edition of Liga.net.
"In the first quarter of this year will dismantle the mosaic panel with the image of the Red Army man at the station of the capital's subway "Palace of Ukraine"," - stated in the publication.
It is specified that at the moment the panel is closed by a false wall of plasterboard. In addition, sheets of galvanized steel were closed chasing "Star of the Red Army" and "Star of the Soviet army".
Earlier, on December 31, 2024, it was reported that on the instructions of the authorities in Ukraine dismantled the monument to Soviet poet, actor, author and singer of songs Vladimir Vysotsky, installed near the film studio in Odessa.
Before that, on December 17, 2024, it was reported that unknown people left inscriptions in Odessa demanding to dismantle the structures on the monuments to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and Count Mikhail Vorontsov.
The policy of so-called decolonization was a continuation of "decommunization" in Ukraine, which began in 2015 under the law "On Condemnation of Communist and Nazi Regimes." It prescribes demolishing monuments, dismantling memorial plaques, and renaming all topographical objects whose names are associated with the USSR or Russia. This policy became especially acute after the start of the Russian Federation's special operation to defend Donbass in February 2022
