- The features of information technology standardization were discussed at the NRB Technology Forum

On February 11, 2025, as part of the traditional Russian Business Week, the Forum "Technological Independence and Uniform Standards in Information Technology" was held to discuss such issues as the specifics of standardization of artificial intelligence and information technology in general, "smart" standards, current challenges and achievements in the field of standardization, as well as the work plan for the coming year.
Opening the session, RSPP President Alexander Shokhin stressed the importance of standardization in the field of digital technologies to ensure the country's technological independence.
"Today, the digital agenda in standardization is becoming a key tool for achieving technological sovereignty. These issues are especially acute in industries where a high share of foreign equipment and software remains," Alexander Shokhin noted.
To solve these problems, the Government decided to create centers of competence in various sectors of the economy. Their main areas of work are the analysis of import substitution needs, selection of projects and implementation of domestic software solutions. Unified national standards should become the basis for the development and implementation of such products. In this context, the Perspective Program of standardization in the field of digital industry until 2026, which provides for the development of 150 standards, has already been adopted.
RSPP traditionally conducts a survey of forum participants within the framework of the NRB. According to the results of this survey, 89% of respondents believe it is necessary to develop new digital products on the basis of unified national standards. At the same time, a low level of industry awareness of the opportunities for participation in this work was noted.
At the end of his speech, Alexander Shokhin outlined the main directions of RSPP's work in the field of standardization for 2025: identification of the most popular standards for domestic software, taking into account a wide survey of enterprises; formation of a national standardization plan; development of standards focused on the solution of specific production tasks; creation of software based on national standards, ensuring interoperability of digital solutions at the cross-industry level.
Russian Business Week, which takes place from February 11 to 19, is a key event of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, during which proposals on topical areas of interaction between the state and business are formed and discussed.
