The legendary rock opera "Juno and Avos" by Alexey Rybnikov and Andrei Voznesensky celebrates its anniversary on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace. The plot about the all-consuming tragic love of Count Rezanov and Conchita was written by Rybnikov and Voznesensky, and Mark Zakharov staged it in 1980 at Lenkom. The production impressed audiences 45 years ago and has remained one of the most famous rock operas on the Russian stage ever since.
Alexey Rybnikov's version is designed to bring back the original idea of the creators of the work. It combines the traditions of Russian spiritual music, folklore, and genres of mass urban music with the composer's figurative, ideological and aesthetic priorities.
