"Avtotor" released a crossover SWM G01 with manual control

Kaliningrad plant Avtotor has produced the first batch of SWM G01 crossovers with manual control for immobile citizens, 200 such cars rolled off the assembly line earlier this month. This is stated in the message of the automaker, which was received by "Izvestia" on February 12.

The company said that it had introduced the equipment of cars with manual control system into the technological process in the conveyor production mode. SWM G01 with manual control has passed certification in FSUE "NAMI", the cars were also tested by instructors of the driving school of DOSAAF of Russia.

Such a crossover is characterized by the presence of a control lever on the right side of the steering wheel. The car is equipped with a 1.5 turbo engine with an output of 138 hp and a seven-speed "robot" with a double clutch.

SWM G01 became the second model with manual control, production of which is mastered at Avtotor. Last year, the company produced a similar sedan BAIC U5 Plus in pilot mode. One of such cars was handed over for test operation as a training and examination car for driving training for immobile citizens in DOSAAF.

On February 10, the company Shineray Motors Rus, which represents the Italian-Chinese automobile brand SWM in Russia, announced that it plans to develop it and bring new models to the market. In the near future, SWM is going to introduce in Russia an updated model G01F, which will receive a modernized interior and a new powertrain.
