Matvienko declared an "economic miracle" in Russia amid sanctions

The experience of Russia's "economic miracle" under sanctions will be included in global economic textbooks. This was announced on February 12 by Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko at the end of the government hour with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
She noted that the growth rate of the Russian economy at the end of 2024 was higher than the world level, and called such a result a huge achievement in the current conditions.
"I think that many economists of the world will analyze here this economic miracle in Russia under such external pressure, sanctions and, I think, that many economic theories, which are prescribed in textbooks, will be adjusted taking into account the experience of the Russian Federation," she said.
According to the speaker of the Council of the Russian Federation, the country's economic successes were the result of the responsible labor of Russians, the effective work of the government, as well as the active participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Constantly over the past years, prompt decisions were made and, as practice has shown, they were correct," Matvienko emphasized.
Earlier, on February 7, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported to President Vladimir Putin that Russia' s GDP had reached a historic high. It amounted to Br200 trillion, with gross domestic product growing by 4.1% last year, which is more than the official forecast by 0.2%.
Putin, in turn, noted that the growth rate of Russian GDP exceeded the level of many countries in the world, including the so-called developed countries. Thus, according to him, the United States showed GDP growth of 2.8%, the gross product of France grew by 1.1%, while Germany's figure fell by 0.2%.
