Dry skin, breathing difficulties, static electricity and rapid fatigue are typical companions of the heating season. To avoid these problems, it is important to create a comfortable microclimate. Tatiana Seredenkova, General Director of Level Home management company from Level Group, told Izvestia how to mitigate the consequences.

With the arrival of winter and the beginning of the heating season, the air in apartments becomes dry and hot, which negatively affects health and well-being. To mitigate the consequences, it is worth following some rules, the expert noted. First of all, she advised to take care of a sufficient level of humidity: the ideal parameters for the apartment - 40-60% humidity. Deviations from these norms cause discomfort, mucous membranes dry up, the risk of colds increases, and furniture and plants suffer from dryness. To determine the level of humidity will help hygrometer.

Seredenkova reminded that humidifiers quickly increase humidity, if its level is too low, and the function of air washing additionally cleans the room from dust.

According to her, you can also moisturize the air with folk remedies. For example, place containers of water on or near radiators, hang wet towels on radiators. You can boil water without a lid: the steam will moisturize the air. In this case, adding herbs - chamomile, eucalyptus - will create a pleasant aroma.

"It is equally important to maintain a comfortable air temperature: 20-22 degrees in living rooms, 18-20 in the bedroom. Open the windows for 5-10 minutes every two to three hours. This will minimize heat loss, but will freshen the air. If the windows are plastic, use this mode for constant circulation without drafts. But humidification may be necessary after airing, as winter street air is very dry," Seredenkova said.

Some indoor plants, such as ferns, ficus rubber-leaved, spathiphyllum and sansevieria naturally moisturize the air, the expert noted. She advised spraying their leaves regularly. However, it is important not to overdo it: excess moisture - more than 70% - provokes the growth of mold.

Earlier, on January 14, Professor of the Department of Nanoelectronics RTU MIREA, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alexei Yurasov said that it is better to choose humidifiers from trusted manufacturers. According to him, the use of low-quality models can increase the probability of breakdowns and emergencies.
