The RAS named the reasons for the growth of the EAEU economies

The final growth indicator of the EAEU economies is influenced by the assessment of growth potential caused by the geopolitical situation, as well as by the accelerated growth of the Russian economy, the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences told "Izvestia" on February 12.
"As for the impact of global geopolitical shifts on the nature of economic development of countries, they have formed an influence not only on the Russian economy, but also through the indicators of foreign trade turnover on other EAEU countries," the RAS said.
In addition, economic interrelations between Russia and Belarus have sharply intensified, including in the framework of military-technical and industrial cooperation. The scale of this intensification goes far beyond the inertial trends of foreign trade turnover.
"It is practically impossible to forecast such effects, it remains to fix expertly the existing scale of changes, which cannot be explained by traditional factors of economic dynamics", - summarized the RAS.
Last year, on December 26, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said that mutual trade between the EAEU countries for nine months increased by 12.3% compared to 2023 and totaled 6.5 trillion rubles. According to him, an important step was the agreement on a unified system of customs transit of the EAEU and third countries, which was signed by the heads of the union.
