An accomplice of telephone fraudsters was detained in the Moscow region

Police officers in the Moscow region have detained a 20-year-old boy who is suspected of assisting in a telephone fraud. He intended to take 2.5 million roubles from a pensioner.

According to the 68-year-old woman, she was contacted by telephone by a stranger who introduced herself as an employee of Rosfinmonitoring. She said that someone was allegedly trying to steal funds from the victim's accounts. The con artist persuaded the pensioner to withdraw her savings from her account and transfer it to a trusted person for crediting it to a "safe" account. This is reported by the Internet edition of "Podmoskovye Segodnya".

A bank employee who worked with the pensioner, noticed the nervous behavior of the woman. She offered to call the police. The transfer of funds to the courier was under the control of operatives. Law enforcement officers detained a 20-year-old native of Tyumen.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact of attempted fraud.

In Samara, the police detained four telephone fraudsters who managed to steal 421 million roubles from a local resident.
