In the Pskov region 12 rabies outbreaks were registered for the year

In 2024, 12 cases of rabies were registered in the Pskov region. This is reported by the Pskov newswire with reference to the chairman of the regional veterinary committee Valery Udalov.

At the moment, all outbreaks have been eliminated. In addition to rabies, experts have identified cases of trichinellosis in bears and badgers. In particular, outbreaks were detected in the Porkhovsky district and Dedovichi district. Hunters are recommended to carry out veterinary examinations.

During the year, 66 foci of leukosis of cattle were registered, 60 of them - in private farms. Compared to 2023, the number of foci decreased by 29%.

At the end of last week, a quarantine on rabies was introduced in Minusinsk in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The disease was detected in a dog in the private sector.
