Olympic champion, president of the International Association of Clubs "Heavenly Grace" Alina Kabaeva on February 12 called the departure of Irina Viner from the post of head coach of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team the loss of an entire era in the sport.

"Irina Viner's departure is not just the end of an era, it is the loss of an entire era in rhythmic gymnastics. Over the years, she not only brought up outstanding champions, but also created a unique school that became a role model around the world. Her talent, wisdom and dedication have inspired many female athletes, and her influence on the sport cannot be overestimated," Kabaeva said.

She also emphasized that Wiener is a symbol of strength, grace and striving for perfection.

"She gave us unforgettable moments of triumph and pride, and her achievements will forever remain in history. We are grateful to her for all the lessons she taught us and for the beauty she brought to the world of rhythmic gymnastics," Kabaeva pointed out.

Wiener announced her resignation as head coach of the Russian national team earlier in the day.
