Peskov: the AFU will be destroyed and expelled from Russian territory

Militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will either be destroyed or expelled from the territory of the Russian Federation. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on February 12.
"Of course, Ukrainian compounds will be expelled from this (Russian. - Ed.) territory. All those who are not destroyed will be expelled," Peskov said.
He emphasized that the Russian Federation has never discussed and will not discuss the exchange of its lands with anyone from now on. The Kremlin spokesman recalled that Moscow and, among others, Russian President Vladimir Putin were open for peaceful negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The position of the Russian Federation in this issue is transparent, consistent and conveyed to the world.
The day before, on February 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired on May 20, 2024, said that if American leader Donald Trump could ensure the start of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev, the head of the Kiev regime would offer Russia to exchange the lands in Kursk region, which the AFU invaded, for some part of the regions that became part of the Russian Federation, but he himself does not know which one.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on this statement, pointed out that with such words Zelensky is trying to hide the seriousness of the disaster that happened to the AFU in Kursk region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly reminded that Russia has never given up on peace talks, but they should be conducted on the basis of the provisions agreed in Istanbul, not on the basis of "ephemeral demands."
The last round of talks was held in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4 of the same year, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin was put into effect.
