A criminal case against the makers of "Mister Cider" was filed with the Samara court

The criminal case against the manufacturers of "Mr. Cider", from which 50 people in different regions died in 2023, has arrived in the court of Samara. This follows on February 12 from the file cabinet of Krasnoglinsky district court of the city.

Materials of the case against Anar Huseynov and Artem Hayrapetyan were received on February 11. The date of the first hearing is still unknown.

They are charged under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production and sale of alcohol-containing products that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the negligent mass death of people").

According to the investigation, they deliberately refused to comply with the natural technology of preparing the drink for the sake of reducing costs and production time. From May to June 2023, Ayrapetyan purchased at least 4,000 liters from Alexei and Dmitry Egorov, as well as Ivan Grebenkin, stolen from the warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Samara region.

As a result, more than a hundred people were poisoned by the drink, 50 of them died. The total amount of claims filed by the victims exceeds 46 million rubles.

In February 2024, the Egorovs were sentenced to 3.3-3.6 years in a general and strict regime colony.

On June 7, 2023, Rospotrebnadzor reported the seizure of 66.5 thousand liters of "Mister Cider" in 15 regions of the country. Then at once in several regions it became known about mass poisoning with counterfeit drink "Mr. Cider". Huseynov, suspected of producing surrogate alcohol, was detained.

A criminal case was opened under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence").
