In Japan, a drunken U.S. Marine stole and crashed an automobile

In Japan's Yamaguchi prefecture, police arrested a 21-year-old U.S. Marine Corporal who is suspected of stealing a passenger car and illegal entry into another person's apartment in a drunken state. This was reported by the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri on February 12.
The incident occurred on the 11th. It is specified that first the Iwakuni police station received a call from an eyewitness. He informed the officers that a passenger car crashed into a pole near his house, and the foreign driver fled the scene.
"Arriving on the scene, police officers found the suspect in the hallway of the apartment building. He was in a state of alcoholic intoxication", - stated in the publication.
At the same time, according to the newspaper, the American denies the charges because he does not remember what happened.
The base of the US Marine Corps, which is located in the prefecture, in turn, said that it "takes the incident seriously".
Earlier, on January 23, it was reported that in Japan, residents of Okinawa hold a protest in response to an incident of sexual assault by a U.S. soldier.
