In Krasnoyarsk they plan to restore the chapel next to the government

The Krasnoyarsk region is considering the idea of restoring a chapel next to the regional government building. The initiative belongs to Alexander Uss, a senator from the region. In his Telegram channel, he published an archive photo of the chapel, which was destroyed with the Cathedral of the Holy Nativity.
The senator hopes that the idea will be supported by those who worked in the government in different years, and the endeavor itself will become "a symbol of repentance, restoration of justice and unity".
KrasnoyarskMedia news agency specifies that the Cathedral of the Holy Nativity was once the largest Orthodox church in Siberia. It was built in 1845-1861 under the project of architect Konstantin Ton. It was the main Orthodox shrine of the capital of the region.
In 1936 the cathedral was blown up, and after almost 80 years it was decided to restore it. It was to appear between the building of the Philharmonic Society and the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center.
Earlier, on February 7, it was reported that a school for 1.1 thousand places will be built in Solnechny microdistrict in Krasnoyarsk. Capital Construction Department is already preparing the terms of reference. The obligatory condition is compliance of the object with the architectural and town-planning appearance, so the facade will be kept in dark and light shades of gray.
