Pushilin told about lithium and titanium reserves in Donbass

The main reserves of lithium and titanium are located on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic and belong to the Russians. This was stated by the head of the republic Denis Pushilin on February 12.
"Our subsoil, which was freed by the hands and efforts of our defenders - this is the property of our people, this is the property of that is the residents of Russia. <...> This scoundrel [Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, 2024] is selling the remnants of Ukraine, and not for a high price, and he is doing it publicly," Pushilin said on air on Solovyov Live, commenting on U.S. leader Donald Trump 's plan for resources in Ukraine.
The head of the republic said that the main reserves, including lithium and titanium, are located in varying quantities on the territories of the DNR and the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) liberated by Russia.
It is too early to talk about the start of projects to exploit rare earth metals - the area needs to be demined, he added.
Earlier, on February 3, Trump said that in exchange for financial and military aid, the United States expects Ukraine to guarantee the supply of rare earth metals. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, called the proposal of the American leader "buying aid".
After, on February 8, Harald Elsner, an employee of the German Federal Institute for Earth Sciences and Natural Resources, warned Trump that there are no rare earth metals on the territory of Ukraine, in the development of which he would be interested. He specified that most of the minerals are located in Donbass, which is already under Russian control.
