A new bridge will be built to replace the old one over the Ikura River in Birobidzhan

In Birobidzhan, construction of a bridge over the Ikuru River will begin in March-April. The old bridge was recognized as an emergency bridge. In accordance with the requirements of the Russian legislation and supervisory authorities, the crossing was closed and the transportation service over it was terminated.

EAOMedia news agency writes that the city authorities found funds for the preparation of design and estimate documentation. At the end of December 2024 the project received a positive state expertise.

The agreement on the construction of the new bridge was signed with the government of EAO. In the near future it will be known who will be the contractor. The work should be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

Earlier, on January 9, it was reported about the closure of the old automobile bridge over the Bira River in Birobidzhan. This was due to repair work.
