Low unemployment in the country is a long-term trend in today's conditions. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak in the Federation Council on February 12.

Novak pointed out that the shortage of personnel is observed in certain sectors of the economy, which should be taken into account in the work. According to him, it is important to maximize incentives to increase the productivity of the tour.

"Real monetary income of the population minus inflation at the end of the year increased by 8.4% against the background of a decline in unemployment to a historic low of 2.3% by the end of the year. It is obvious that such a low unemployment rate is a long-term trend in today's conditions," the Deputy Prime Minister specified.

Earlier, February 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged to take non-standard solutions to fill the shortage of personnel. He pointed out the importance of establishing a constant exchange of effective practices within the framework of creating a single end-to-end system of training technical personnel from school to university. The President also predicted that the total need of the Russian economy in personnel by 2029 will amount to over 74 million people.

In February 2024, Putin, delivering his address to the Federal Assembly, announced the launch of a new national project "Personnel". It began to operate on January 1, 2025. It should solve the problem of the shortage of specialists and help in the professional development of the country's citizens, the head of state said at the time.
