The autonomous non-profit organization (ANO) "Eurasia" has launched the movement "Victory 9/45", within the framework of which it will organize a patriotic festival with a concert in the CIS countries and the Balkans with the participation of Russian pop stars. This was announced on February 12 by Boris Chernyshov, vice-speaker of the State Duma, chairman of the organizing committee of the movement.

"The grandiose festival "Victory 9/45" will be held in the center of the participating cities and will unite different generations. <...> It will be a big celebration with a concert with the participation of Russian pop stars, patriotic bands, fireworks in honor of the heroes of the Great Victory," he said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya news agency dedicated to the launch of the movement.

Chernyshov noted that a special place in the events will be taken by the international project "Heirs" in the Balkans. He added that a motor rally will be organized along the places of military glory, on the basis of which a film will be made about the united feat of the peoples of Europe during the Second World War.

Veteran Ivan Grishanov emphasized that it's inadmissible to allow the Victory Day on May 9 not to be celebrated in other countries. He specified that the holiday is no longer celebrated in the states that participated in the war.

"It is lost, it is lost not only childhood, lost memory, and lost memory also loses childhood. <...> All this attention should be directed at the youth, so that the young people know what used to be and what should not be now," he added.

For his part, the leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor called May 9 a great day and linked the holiday to the interaction between generations. He also expressed regret that Western countries "are trying to rewrite history".

Earlier, on February 7, Russian Ambassador to Ecuador Vladimir Sprinchan said that social and humanitarian organizations of the country addressed the Russian Embassy with a proposal to hold commemorative actions in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II. According to him, at the moment negotiations are underway in different regions of the country and the organization of various celebrations by Ecuadorians.

Before that, last October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow intends to invite world leaders in addition to the heads of CIS countries to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2025. He noted that the capital will welcome everyone who wants to come to the celebration

In 2025, May 9 marks 80 years since the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). In January 1945, the USSR army launched an offensive on Berlin. As a result of the fighting at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed an act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the Great Patriotic War.
