The great interest of foreign customers in Russian weapons is due to their battle-tested performance. This was stated on February 12 by Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of Rostec's arms, ammunition and special chemicals cluster.

He noted that Russia's arms exports have reached record levels in recent years despite Western sanctions.

"The great interest of foreign customers is understandable. Russia's military products have been repeatedly tested in combat and have shown their advantages," Ozdoev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the industrial director, Rostec has an unprecedented amount of information about the actual experience of using Russian weapons. This is achieved through the work of the corporation's specialists in the special operation zone in Ukraine, communication with the military and cooperation with military universities.

"This allows us to promptly transform and scale technologies. Like a lego constructor we adapt weapons to current needs," he added.

At the same time, according to Ozdoyev, it is the inherent adaptability of Rostec's products that has become one of the key criteria in evaluating weapons on the export market in recent years.

Earlier, on February 4, the state corporation shipped the first batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to the Russian army in 2025. It was specified that the new vehicles received in their standard equipment modern means of defense, which have already proved themselves on the battlefield.

Before that, in October last year, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said that Rosoboronexport's order book for the delivery of weapons to foreign customers is about $55 billion. He emphasized that this figure shows that interest in Russian equipment is only growing.

In May, Chemezov noted that Rostec supplies almost 80% of all weapons used by Russian servicemen during a special military operation. According to him, production and overhaul of tanks has increased 3.5 times over the past two years, and lightly armored vehicles 3 times. The output of ammunition for tanks and BMPs has increased almost 9 times, shells for barrel artillery - 6 times, and rocket artillery - 8 times.
