Msta-S calculations destroyed armored vehicles and a radar station of the AFU

The Msta-S self-propelled howitzer units of the All-Russian Army of the Zapad group of troops have destroyed an M777 howitzer, a radar station, armored vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 12.
The ministry specified that the artillerymen received the relevant coordinates from the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), after which they inflicted fire damage on the enemy and changed their combat positions to reserve ones to prevent their detection by Ukrainian militants.
"We are oriented at night by a spotting point. The surveyor gives the illumination, we aim at it and work on the coordinates of the data. We work on fortifications, on equipment. <...> Everything changes depending on the targets," said a senior gunner with the call sign Marshal.
Artillery crews perform a wide range of firing tasks, such as defeating areas of concentrated manpower and equipment, command posts and observation posts, covering the actions of ground troops and conducting counter-battery warfare. The Msta-S howitzer is capable of hitting the enemy at a range of up to several dozen kilometers from open and closed positions.
Earlier, on February 10, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that an artillery crew of the Msta-S self-propelled artillery unit of the Center group of troops destroyed a mortar crew and an ammunition depot of the AFU in the Red Army direction of the North Caucasus Military District.
