Storm troopers captured an AFU stronghold on the Kurakhov direction

An assault group of four soldiers of the 242nd regiment of the 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Southern Group of Forces, supported by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that dropped ammunition on an enemy dugout, captured an important stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kurakhov direction and defended the occupied positions against enemy attacks for seven days. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 12.
"We had the task of entrenching ourselves in a dugout. This dugout was located extreme, that is, in the middle of the forest belt. And before this dugout from the point of my exit in the dugout was not at all, that is, this position was the enemy," explained a serviceman of the assault group with the call sign Moroz.
According to the Russian fighter, the attack group reached quietly in the daytime, without impact. When they came in, they met Ukrainian fighters at the entrance to the dugout. According to him, the enemy was eliminated, while the Russian servicemen entrenched themselves in the dugout and held their positions.
"On the first night, as we entrenched ourselves, there was a nakat of the enemy on us in the number of three people. The onslaught was repulsed. In the second half of the day, there was a push on us with equipment. There was a [armored personnel carrier] Bradley and infantry to the number of five men. The Bradley was destroyed on a tank mine. The infantry was also interrupted. After the group of five men was destroyed, there was also a report to us by radio that another double of the enemy was moving towards us along the forest belt. We let them get closer, as far as it was possible to open fire from the dugout. The enemy was destroyed," the fighter said.
Moroz added that 20 to 30 Ukrainian FPV drones flew in on the Russian servicemen daily for seven days, constantly smashing the entrance to the dugout.
"We backfilled it, piled it with whatever was possible. At the end I even took off my body armor and laid the entrance, because there was nothing to lay it with anymore. We held the defense with four of us. <...> We held as much as we could, we held everything, the task was accomplished," the Russian serviceman summarized.
At the same time, the Russian army's attackers, who held the former enemy position, were supported by unmanned aerial vehicles: they delivered batteries for radios, food and water to the fighters, provided them with information about the movement of AFU groups and equipment, and helped them repel enemy advances, the Defense Ministry added.
Earlier, on February 11, calculations of strike drones of the reconnaissance battalion of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Guards All-Russian Army of the "West" group of forces destroyed AFU vehicle and armored vehicles in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). It was noted that the positions of the scouts are in close proximity to the line of contact in order to make deep raids into the rear of the enemy.
